About Me

Andoniaina Rajaonarivelo

I'm Andoniaina Rajaonarivelo, an educator and researcher passionate about astronomy, science education, and environmental sustainability. With a Master's degree in Education specializing in Physics and Chemistry, my work focuses on leveraging astronomy as a powerful tool for learning and community engagement.

My current research explores key topics such as light pollution, biodiversity, cultural astronomy, and the development of sustainable astrotourism in Madagascar. I also lead initiatives that promote astronomy education and citizen science, engaging people of all ages to connect with the wonders of the night sky.

As the director of the Observatoire Astronomique Ecoles du Monde, Madagascar's first robotic observatory, I oversee projects that blend scientific research, outreach, and eco-tourism. I am also the founder of Lemurs' Sky, an initiative that highlights the deep connection between Madagascar's unique biodiversity and its pristine night skies, advocating for their protection and valorization.

Through collaborations with local communities, schools, and international researchers, I strive to inspire new perspectives on the universe while contributing to science-based sustainable development.

Lemurs' Sky

Lemurs' Sky is an initiative that bridges astronomy and sustainable development in Madagascar. We transform the island's pristine night skies into valuable educational, scientific, and touristic resources that benefit local communities and businesses.

Our services range from astronomical observation activities and guide training to equipment installation and astro-tourism package development, all while promoting dark sky preservation.
